श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्म-निष्ठां शास्त्र-दीपं नमाम्यहम्।śrotriyaṃ brahma-niṣṭhāṃ śāstra-dīpaṃ namāmyahamI salute the lamp of śāstra — the learning grounded in Brahman.

Annotated tables-of-contents + fair-use key-verse snippets from the foundational śāstras of jyotiṣa. We describe the topics and quote short canonical passages — full texts belong to the printed editions; the jyotiṣī interprets, the substrate computes.

How to read — the dharma of approaching śāstra

Classical jyotiṣa-śāstras are not algorithmic prediction-tables. They are guru-paramparā transmissions, condensed across centuries; each sūtra/śloka has multiple commentarial layers (vyākhyā). The terse aphorisms of Jaimini, for example, are nearly opaque without a teacher.

Our library functions as a soochī-grantha (index-text) — we show you which adhyāya treats which topic, with one fair-use representative verse where helpful. We do not make predictions from these texts on your behalf. That role belongs to the qualified jyotiṣī working with your chart.

The substrate (R, g, k) computes accurately; the śāstras frame interpretation; the practitioner holds the relationship between you and the work. We make the first two transparently accessible — the third is your own pursuit.
