Jaimini's Adhy. 1 · Pāda 1 — the chara-kāraka system, where the graha with the highest degree in any rāśi becomes the Ātma-kāraka, the next the Amātya-kāraka, and so on.

Jaimini Path — The Parallel Tradition
Jaimini's Upadeśa-sūtras are the second great pillar of classical jyotiṣa, alongside BPHS. The sūtras are extremely terse — nearly opaque without a teacher — but the techniques are powerful and complementary to Pārāśara's. This path traces six core Jaimini topics, each anchored to specific adhyāya-pāda sections.

Each bhāva has an ārūḍha-pada — a 'projected image' rāśi that represents how the bhāva manifests outwardly. The ārūḍha-lagna (AL) is the projected-self.

First-principles introduction — 27 nakṣatras, 12 rāśis, 9 grahas, the 5-limb pañcāṅga, and the construction of the sidereal chart.
Trace five foundational chapters of the Phaladīpikā — Maṇṭreśvara's 15th-century synthesis. Covers graha-svarūpa, Pañca-Mahāpuruṣa yogas, lagna-phala, āyurdāya, and muhūrta.
Seven modules tracing the Bṛhat Pārāśara Horā Śāstra — graha-bheda, varga, ṣaḍ-bala, yoga, daśā, aṣṭakavarga, and vivāha (marriage). The canonical depth-path of Vedic astrology.
Five modules on practical use — muhūrta selection, praśna methodology, varṣaphala analysis, aṣṭakūṭa compatibility, and daily nakṣatra-mantra practice. Computation in service of practice, not prediction.
